The character above is entitled the WOODLAND SAVANT.
His head and hands are cast of hydrocal and then painted. He was created in a very limited edition of ten. Over sixty individual steps have been undertaken in creating this character. Each outfit is sewn. The findings are solid brass and are sewn on, knotted and glued. The apples are made of painted beads with a leather stem and stiffened fabric leaves. The green bag holds a small bell. A small colisonne fish hangs from his bucket. His vest has a brass moon and star sewn on and he also has a small green bag with a bell. A brass dragonfly is sewn to his cloth swatch on his belt. A walking stick was cut and dried from a mock cherry tree, then drilled and sanded. This wise man of the forest is returning home from the woods with his evening meal of fish, greens, and apples. He knows the truth is out there. He stands approximately 6 1/2" high. |
